+ Printing Methods

LETTERPRESS

Letterpress is a form of printing where ink is pressed onto soft paper to produce a deep luxurious impression. A letterpress plate must be created for each color that is printed, therefore pricing is based on the number of colors used. Inks have a slight possibility of subtle color variation between printed pieces.

Blind letterpress is letterpress method where no ink is used, leaving a blank impression on the paper. While no ink is used, it is still considered a 'color' for pricing purposes, therefore most cards are considered 2 Color Letterpress. This beautiful technique is featured on our Chantilly suite.

FOIL STAMPING

Foil Stamping (aka Metallic Foil Letterpress) is similar to letterpress printing, but instead of ink, a metallic foil is used. Foil stamping is one of our favorite methods of printing and is the best way to achieve a shiny metallic finish. We are happy to offer Foil Stamping in the following colors: Gold Foil, Tawny Foil, Silver Foil, Rose Gold Foil, Mint Foil, Pearl Foil and Onyx Foil. Foil samples available upon request. Please contact us for more information

FLAT PRINTING

Flat printing is a modern and affordable form of printing where the ink is transferred to the paper using a digital image, resulting in a smooth 'flat' finish. Flat printing allows for unlimited colors and large areas of color. Although we design letterpress and foil invitations mostly, we offer flat printing to our clients who don’t have the budget, but still want a gorgeous, well-designed invitation suite from our collection. We also offer flat printed“day-of” wedding accessories.

MIXING PRINTING METHODS

Our printing methods can be mixed within an invitation suite and can even be mixed on the same piece. (i.e. Foil/Letterpress, Foil/Flat) We work with many clients who decide to have foil invitations, letterpress reply cards and flat printed envelopes. Our bright white and cream cotton stock are available with all printing methods. However, matching ink colors across printing methods is tricky, so we recommend choosing complementing shades but not identical inks. There will be a slight difference in color as well as a difference in the overall look when using multiple printing methods.
